MULTIMEDIA LIBRARY

Multimedia library lies on Sultan Alauddin street. In front of this library, there is Muhammadiyah University of Makassar. It is a crowded road between them. Every time many vehicles pass through this street. A few meters from the street, there are two gates as the entrance and the exit of the library. A large park is in front of it with beautiful flowers, some sitting area that is used by collegians or society as a place of studying, discussion, and relaxing. Many children also visit it to play in that large park. There is a language building beside of the library. Multimedia library has complete comfortable facilities because the rooms are full of air condition.

Multi media library is a large building. It has two floors. The first floor is official rooms and reading room. The second floor is archives room. At the front, we look two huge poles and a map adhere to the wall at the side of the door. Passing the wooden door, we step to the first room. A stair to the second floor at the left. The right side, it is a miniature of the library and contiguous with a door to the next room.

The second room, it is available a storage. We have to put what we bring before enter this room. We can only bring wallet or phone, some piece of paper and pen. A list book is on the table on the right side of the storage. We have to write down our names in the list book. As official room, we can see internet room on the left side. You can download much information and it cost is not expensive.

The third room is reading room. It is quiet and cool in this room. It is so comfortable for studying and reading. There are many bookshelves that have contents of books. There are many good book like, religion books, social, philosophy, arts, language, business, farming, fishing, sports, science books and etc. we can find quality books as references for our assignment. Some big tables with chairs are available for readers. There is also photocopy stall on the left corner if you want to copy the materials you need. Everyday many visitors like collegians, junior or senior high school students and all of society around this library visit this place.

On the second floor is archives room. All of data about regencies in South Sulawesi are saved in this room. We check everything like, cultures, regions, society, development planning, and the expansion of all regencies. Just certain people who can look for this information in this room.

In Multimedia Library, we can use all facilities like internet and books to get much information and knowledge. It is so useful, especially for collegians. It can help them to run their study smoothly. We can improve our knowledge because library is the source of knowledge. Let’s make this library as the second home.

NICE BIRTHDAY

Rina was my best friend. She was friendly and smart. She lived in a boardinghouse on Jl. Sultan Alauddin. She would be 22 years old on 10^th of June 2006. We had planned to celebrate her birthday in a simple party. We prepared all the things we need like, birthday cake, candle, food, drinks and etc. Rina didn’t know anything. We would give her a surprise. We just sang a birthday song and make a wish for her. As best friends, we would give the best.

Before going to Rina’s house, we bought food and drinks. We bought a special gift, a birthday cake, and a candle. She didn’t know our plan. Rina opened the door. She surprised when all best friends came to her hose and suddenly sang a birthday song for her. She didn’t expect, while on her busy all her best friends still remember her birthday. Rina touched it.

Before blowing the candle, she said her wishes. Rina hoped she finished her study quickly and want to be a good teacher, making happy her parents, and getting the best in her life. We also prayed for her to be successful. She blew the candle, and touched. We congratulated and embraced her with happiness.

We celebrate the party simply. But for the first time, we were gathering after long time never met in togetherness. We had lunch together and shared our activities at the last time. It was a happy day.

It was unforgettable moment. Rina had known that we always support and help her whenever. We hoped Rina would get her wishes.

GLOBAL WARMING

A big problem that is facing in the world is the effect of global warming. Global warming is uneasiness that threatened of earth perpetuity. The greenhouse is unquestionably real and helps to regulate our planet. Water vapor is the most abundant greenhouse gas, followed by carbon dioxide and other trace gases. In is essential for our earth, its effect is so dangerous for human being with several reasons.

The first, the earth’s atmosphere is more diminish. Human activity has been increasing the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Mostly, carbon dioxide comes from combustion of coal, oil and gas, plus a few other trace gases. Currently, we could expect to see carbon dioxide concentrations of anywhere. So that, ozone as protective coating of earth is more erasure.

Day after day, the temperature of the earth rises up. Indirect indicator of warming such as borehole temperature, snow cover, and glacier recession, are in substantial agreement with the more direct indicators of recent warmth. The fact, there is liquefaction of glacier and ice on both two poles. It means that sea level rises up every year and the temperature changes higher in the atmosphere.

Another reason is we also feel the unstabilization of season. Sometimes the weather is so clear but not so long, it is rain again. The direction of wind always changes at time. We can’t prediction the season exactly. How long the rainy season and how long the dry season is.

The more consequence of global warming are the people become worried. The fresh air is difficult to get because there are much carbon dioxide around us. the heat of sun is not uncertain. The season is difficult to estimate. The most important is the age of the earth becomes less.
