Friendship and Wealth

In a Senior High School in Makassar, there were two girls and their names are Amy and Wulan. They were the 1st grade students of that school. They had been friend since they were children. Everyday, they went to school together. They always studied and did their school assignments together. They also always shared and helped each other in their sorrow and happiness. Both of them were clever but Wulan was the cleverest student at their class. She always got high scores in every lesson. Although their parents were not rich, Amy and Wulan could enjoy their lives. They had wishes to become success women in the future and they could make their parents happy.
One day, there was a new student and her name was Cindy. She would be a new classmate of Amy and Wulan. Cindy came from Jakarta. She was beautiful and her parents were rich. Their classmates were so happy because they had a beautiful and rich friend like Cindy. They would be proud if they could be Cindy’s best friend. Although Cindy was pretty and rich, she was a lazy student. She never studied and did her home works. Then, she tried to tempt Wulan and hoped Wulan could help her to do her home works everyday.
The next day, Cindy invited Wulan to study together at her house. Wulan was so happy because she could come to Cindy’s house by a luxurious car. Cindy’s house was so big and wide. Wulan felt like in a palace and she could do everything she wanted there. Cindy served Wulan some delicious food that she had never eaten before. Then, Cindy asked Wulan, “Do you want to be my best friend? If you do, I will give you everything you need and you may come to my house whenever you want. Everyday, I will pick you up by my car and we will go to school together.” Wulan was so surprised hearing Cindy’s offer. She imagined that she would be very happy if she could be Cindy’s best friend. She could enjoy her life like a rich girl. Wulan answered happily, “Of course, I do. I really want to be your best friend and I would be glad for that.” Cindy said, “That’s good! But I want you to help me in doing my home works and assignments from school everyday. I really need your help. Do you agree?” Wulan answered without any doubt, “Okay, I agree with you. That’s a simple thing. Now, we are best friend.”
After Wulan agreed to be Cindy’s best friend, everything changed. Wulan always went everywhere together with Cindy. She had forgotten her old friend, Amy. She never studied together with Amy anymore. When they were at class, Wulan only talked to Cindy and ignored Amy. She didn’t care about her anymore. Amy was sad. She tried to approach Wulan and ask her to study together again. Amy said, “Hi, Wulan. What about if do our assignments together this afternoon?” Wulan answered, “I’m sorry, I can’t. I had an appointment to do it together with Cindy.” Amy added, “Well, what about if we go to the bookshop this Sunday?” Wulan answered, “I can’t. I will go to a party with Cindy. I’m sorry; I don’t have much time for you, Amy. I must go now.” Then, Wulan left and ignored her. Amy was so sad and disappointed. Wulan had changed and broke their friendship just because of Cindy’s wealth. Despite her sadness, Amy never hated Wulan. She could only hope that Wulan could be aware and be her best friend again. Amy realized that she was not a good friend for Wulan. She was not rich and she couldn’t give everything for her like Cindy
Two weeks later, Wulan was sick and she was treated in a hospital. Amy was sad to know about it. After school, she came to the hospital to visit Wulan everyday. She always tried to cheer her up until Wulan got well. Amy really cared of Wulan and she was always beside her while Cindy never came to visit her in the hospital. Wulan regretted for her bad attitude to Amy. Then, Wulan said, “I’m so sorry for all my faults to you, Amy. I have hurt your heart and make you sad. Please forgive me!” Amy said tenderly, “Don’t mention it, Wulan. I always forgive you because you are the only best friend that I have. Whatever you have done to me, I never hate you. I always love you.” Wulan said happily, “Thank you so much, Amy. I love you too. You are my truly best friend forever.” Finally, Wulan realized her fault. Friendship cannot be bought by wealth. Friendship is a precious and priceless thing in this life.


“Descriptive Composition“
Wedding Party in PMCC
Wedding is a beautiful moment for a marriage couple. Merriment and happiness are the symbol of a wedding party. All family and friends come to gather in a wedding party. Generally, the reception of the wedding takes place in a big hall or in a luxurious hotel. It depends on our capabilities to rent and the quantity of the invited guests.
In Makassar, there is a big hall which usually used for wedding party. It is called PMCC (Panakukang Mas Country Club). It is located at Boulevard Street No.158, close to Panakukang Mall. PMCC is a big and wide building. It can hold more than one thousand people. Therefore, some people who invite a lot of guests to their parties prefer this place to the others.
The reception usually starts at 7-10 in the evening. The first time we arrive in PMCC, we can see that its building is so big from outside. It has a wide parking area so the guests can park their cars or motorcycles easily. There were some beautiful girls who stood in the front of the entrance to welcome the guests. They wore traditional clothes of Makassar and they requested the guests to sign a guest book politely.
When we entered the hall, we could see a lot of people attended the wedding party. Most of them came with their couples. The men wore coat, tie, and trousers neatly and the women wore a nice dress or “kebaya”, national clothes of Indonesia. The hall was decorated beautifully with a lot of flowers around the hall. There was a special stage for the bride, bridegroom, and their parents. The bride and the bridegroom wore traditional wedding clothes and sat on the stage. They looked like a king and a queen in this party.
In the center of the hall, there were some tables for food and beverage. There were also a lot of chairs for the guests. There were many kinds of delicious food and cakes so the guests could eat as much as they like. There were some waiters to serve them well. Beside the stage, there were some music instruments and the singer. The singer would sing some songs during the party to entertain the guests. The sound of the music was so loud so everyone could hear it. The guests would not feel bored and they could enjoy the party.
The situation was so crowded. We could see the guests were talking each other and enjoying the food. The children were playing together and run around the hall happily. The wedding party is the right moment for them to meet and talk each other. There were also some guests who just came, they walked to the stage and congratulated the brides. The waiters looked so busy to serve the guests. Before the party finished, the brides and their families took their pictures together. Everyone looked so happy, especially the new married couple. That was an unforgettable moment for them.
