On June 11 2006, was a day that will never forget. It was the day I experienced my first earthquake. I had just gotten home from school and was lying on the living room sofa watching the news on TV. My little brother was in his room playing and my sister was in the kitchen preparing our dinner.
At exactly 4.20 am, the earthquake struck. At first, none of us realized what was happening. Then my sister yelled “earthquake” I get under something. I was too very surprised to move but the shaking was so strong that I soon feel of the sofa unto the floor. I half relled, half crowded across the floor to the dining table and got under it. My sister was sitting on the floor in the kitchen, holding her arms over her head to protect it from falling dishes. She yelled at my brother together to get under his desk he wanted to be near us. He tried to get out of his room but he falling down.
At last the shaking stopped for a minute or two we were scared to move. Then my sister and I cautiously got up and went to help our little brother who was crying. As soon as he saw us, he began to calm down. There was no electricity, so I looked for my transistor radio and turned it on. Unfortunately, it didn’t work because the batteries were too old.
Two hours after earthquake at 6.25 we are getting together in front of my house while tell about event last night. After that we investigate goods such as cupboard, plate, glass, etc but price be to God because goods all yet whole and not broken. Then I and my family rest while drinking tea and eating cake. It is my embarrassing moment and I can’t forget it.

I admire my brother because he is smart, diligent, and also stand alone. He is twenty four years old and now he is collage student in sinjai university. There he is choose sport department because he is want to become swim instructor. I’m three years younger. When we were kids we had a lot off fun together and he is the best for me because he always give me motivation to study hard and also he always teach me for study stand alone.
Three years ago, he was good athletic in school, he can play football, volleyball and swim. He is played soccer on the city team. He was sixteen years old he was the best team player. Then he was in on the community swim team, he swim fast and he often win the first place. He want to become swim instructor and encourage me to join swim team too. I could swim but I didn’t win many first place ribbon. Mostly second or third place but he always rooted for me.
He is nice and care for me because he never bored to teach me and if I get sick he is very care. Formerly, in high school he loved to play basket ball. His team played many high school team and won. I wanted to play basket ball too. He practiced shooting baskets with me a lot. My brother told me to play sport because they teach you many good things, for example sport team teach you good sportsmanship, you have to cooperate with your team if you want to win. If your team loses you must not angry. You just have remember to play the best you can.
I really admire my brother lot because he is good athletic, he is wise, smart and also he can become my good friend.
