COTO DAENG DINER.

Everyday I get off the twenty bus on the same busy city block. Everyday central street bustles with activity. Commuters pass each other in parade they hurry, whether on foot or in dusty buses in whizzing cars. Shops and offices open, welcoming the throng. As some city has grown this block has change from a quite old neighborhood to busy commercial area. Modern building reach up towards the sunlight, shiny and sleek with one exeption. COTO DAENG DINER was here long before any of these new students and still remains the heart of the neighborhood.

COTO DAENG DINER is a tiny, rectangular wooden structure that looks like a railroad car. Its nestled between two mall building and the new civic building. Compared with them, the diner is shabby. The white paint is lightning. The roof misses a few shingles. At the right side of the diner two little toilet and place cool drink. To the left of the door are two big windows.

Their habit of welcoming people is they say a greeting before serving them the menus. Smiling waitress welcomes me, as does to each of her costumers. Waitress places heaping plate on the counter and empty ones into the tub of dirty dishes underneath. Soup and flesh cooked in the big pan, giving feel and delicious aroma.

At the night I see the same people sitting in the booths and at the counter. Voices blend together in a pleasant buzz costumers come and go often leaving creased sections tissue on the table and cigarette but on their way out, they wave at COTO DAENG. And more attractively the place is in open twenty four hours. And add more menus in the COTO DAENG DINER giving to serve special MAKASSAR. And not only that, those menus from COTO DAENG DINER can treat for anemia disease.

DAVID BECKHAM.

DAVID BECKHAM was on top of the world. He always gives take over to become goal, leading her football team to another victory. Real Madrid remained undefeated and still in first place in the city league. However, David Beckham specially excited match because two had been scouts from one local college at the game. If David Beckham could come back as a captain of football scholarship, he would be able to pursue her dream of becoming a coach.

Full of his high hope, David Beckham rushed home with her family or go to football school. He stopped suddenly when he noticed the pained expressions on his parents face. David Beckham shoots the ball at the hurdle with them, but he wasn’t prepared of the bad news they had to share. His father was being prayer from work for several days. His parents were hoping that David Beckham would be able to find a job after his career finish in football of the world.

David Beckham hopes crashed. Of course he would mind working but several days they have planning for opened football school in the city. And maybe he finished his career in the team and special football of the world.

Not taking a long time he starts his new work as a leader of football school. And next he opens a talent college for the children and next in the football school freely. After his success in developing football school, he makes several house poor and because that his family is proud for what he did. And they hope all effort will use for the next generation if the people general society.

A MOTORCYCLE BREAK DOWN A TREE IN FRONT OF ME

23^rd December 2007 was one of my unforgettable moments. My friends and I were playing a game around the street in the afternoon. Some of us were playing with our bicycles and the others were playing football on the street and I was sitting on the ground watching them playing their game. Suddenly, a motorcycle came fast and broke down a tree in front of me.

I was surprising and unintentionally I shouted screamingly. I moved back for several steps and asked my friends to help the man who rode the motorcycle. My friends tried to make me calm and some of them tried to help the victim. They opened his helmet and laid him down. One of them ran trying to call some people.

Not taking a long time, some people came to help the victim and brought him to the nearest hospital. They used pete-pete that passed the street around that time to pick the victim up to the hospital.

I was still panic seeing the blood spread around the tree. So I went away with my friends. Some policemen came to that place to take some information and to observe the accident. One of them took the motorcycle to the police office. We were asked about the accident just a moment. And then we went home.

At night, I couldn’t sleep well. I always imagined that man who broke down the tree. I tried to pretend to forget it but it was hard for me. On the next day, I heard that he was well. Some people said that he was drunk when he rode his motorcycle. The policeman put a traffic sign around the place in order the drivers can drive slowly. I felt better and I could sleep well hearing that.

DESCRIPTIVE ESSAY

SOLLOKAN WATERFALL

Sollokan is a tourism destination that is located in Mamasa. It has five gates. Each gate distances a hundred meters. Mamasa is a new region in West Sulawesi. It’s about ninety kilometres from Polewali. Sollokan is located between Polewali city and Mamasa town. It becomes a new tourism object where many tourists sometimes visit this place.

Sollokan waterfall is now famous. People who ever saw this place will say that it is a beautiful and the most interesting place because it lies on a high mountain. It is in a forest. After passing five gates, sometime people take a rest while see the beautiful waterfall and inhale the fresh water. In that destination there is also a natural pond. Sometimes visitors take a bath in this pond. When people come and see this waterfall more closely, they will find a peaceful feeling and say ‘wonderful’.

Sometimes people who want to reach this destination use a horse as an alternative ride. They use horses because it’s to far from the road. We can find a horse from the villagers by renting their horse for about Rp. 20,000.

Near the waterfall, you can listen the bird singing on the trees. You can also see many wild flowers around you color this area and many things that make this place so peaceful. You’ll think that you are in the world heaven. It’s so beautiful.

Sollokan waterfall is a very beautiful place. Many visitors come to visit this place to enjoy the peace, the pure water, the fresh air, the bird song and the beautiful scene. Sometimes they make a camp near the waterfall, even some tourists sometimes spend their night because they feel that it’s to sooner to leave this world heaven.

DESCRIPTION OF BONE CITY.

Bone is one of the nicest of places. I have ever visited. It’s a city in south Sulawesi, its popular holiday resort for people, who like cultural and historical sides. Bone is a small city but there lot of different things to see.

There are many interesting place in the area headed by BUPATI or regency cave MAMPU swimming pool. There are also two places that we must not miss, ARUNG PALAKKA and BOLA SOBA. Bone is tropical places, there also beautiful beaches south as TETE, dam dyke SLOMEKO and dry beach at MACANANG it is not difficult to get around the city at the day because taxies and buses are easy unfortunately, but there is no bus in the evening.

The only way to see the night life of the city is by taxi, but is rare at night. I like bone because it is beautiful and peaceful city. I would like to visit it again one day. I have time go there. I want to visit my friends to see. And I think them so happy.

It’s different to other place because if we there we can good felt all problem that can forget. And I promise I will come to this place every year when holiday comes, of course, with my friends or my family.

SPENDING NIGHT AT TANJUNG BAYAM

Last Friday, February, 12^th 2008, we had the last examination at our school. We planned to make a holiday at the weekend. Actually we wanted to make a holiday at Malino but my friend whose car we wanted to use got a bad cold. And then, my friends changed the destination. The last decision we agreed was spending the night at Tanjung Bayang at the weekend.

Saturday morning, February 12 2008 at 05:00 am we gathered at school. My friends had prepared everything we need. Actuality, we planned to make roasted fishes. They also invited their friends to join and make a friendship with us. After several minutes, we took two minibuses to reach the destination. On the way, some of us played a guitar and the others sang a song. It’s enjoyable. About an hour we arrived at Tanjung Bayang.

When we arrived, all of my friends look the tools and all the bags out from the mini buses. I directly looked for a villa near the beach. After finding a good villa for us, all my friends came quickly to find the best place to take a rest in this villa. After wards we had lunch and then enjoyed the beach until the sun set in the west.

Actually we made this program not only for refreshing and relaxing after having examination,but we wanted to share about sport and art events for every school to spend the holiday for a week. So at night, we made a camp fire in front of the villa and discussed about the plan. After several time, we stop our discussion and the let our one of our friends, Rudi, to roast the fishes. While waiting the roasted fishes, some of us sang a song and even more we danced together.

When the roasted fishes came, all of us had the late dinner together rounding the camp fire. We really liked it so much. It was delicious fishes. After having dinner, we kept the discussion on until dawn none of us slept at night. After discussion we continue playing guitar near the beach while eating roasted corn we bought around the beach.

This was the first time I had a picnic with my friend and it was not a wasted time to spend the night with them. We made it better than the ordinary picnic. It was useful for us and we really enjoyed this holiday picnic. About at 09:00 AM, we went back home, And I just could say “I am Satisfying” and I want to make it next time again.

SCOUTING MOVEMENT

When I was junior high school, there are some extracurricular afforded by my school and I decided to choose scout organization. In that time, I was on the eight grades. During two months joint in this organization, we were training as boy and girl scouts. We usually had our training at school in the afternoon. Each member who had passed the scout education for some month had a right to be a boy or girl scout. On that time, my group would do the affirmation ceremony in Balle for five days.

At nine o’clock we were assemble in the school. Every student had ordered to bring one tool. It’s probably use during the camping. Before leaving the school, the senior arranged to briefing for ten minutes. Then, we formed a line and went there by on foot because the location is not too far.

When arriving there, we made some tents as resting places. After finishing the tents we formed a line to opening ceremony. At night, we didn’t do anything, just talking and got along to sing a song in our tents with our seniors. We were happy. At down, at about half past five the situation was changed. The senior ordered to get up and do an activity such as taking a bath, having breakfast and so on. Then, we followed the ceremony to hear all the activities we would do. And afterwards, we trained our physical strength like running across the river with mine, swing and the others. We finish our activities in the afternoon.

The second day, we continued the training in groups to see our solidarity. The activities are like games. We enjoyed the games. It is more challenge than the first day. It wasted much energy and mind. In the evening, it was the time that made hearts beating rapidly. That is to envoy the night. The rules were each group consisted of three members and every group got secret information. We would act as porter. During the trip we passed some post which each post would ask about the information but we must save the information until the last post. That night is very strange but pleasant because we had got an affirmation as a boy and a girl scouts.

The last day we would back and didn’t forget to clean the camping area. We worked like a team work. After cleaning the area, we followed the closing ceremony and then we came back in the afternoon.

LACOLLA BATHING PLACE

Lacola is one of tourism place in Maros. Its location is far from Maros. We must pass through the stony road, river, forest and large rice field. Therefore, we have to prepare many things to face the problems along the way, but it doesn’t matter. Upon arriving at this place all our tired will be omitted when see the scene around the place and enjoy the air and the beautiful waterfall.

Because the location is far from the city, that at the mountainous region, the consequence is the road is not easy to pass. To go there we can use a car from Maros for about two hours until the first settlement namely Kajuara county. Then continue our way by on foot because the road is rough and stony. We should hike the mountain through forest. Afterwards we’ll find the second settlement where we can see a large rice field as far as our eyes can see. It makes our heart calm down, violent and fresh.

After passing the rice field area, we would cross the river. If it is rainy season, it can be dangerous because the current is strong and fast. If the condition is like that, we shall pass it harder. Entering the forest, we can hear the bird singing and sometimes we can see monkeys climbing the trees. Walking trough the forest we feel like a very small human being surrounding the big trees. Before arriving to the bath, less than fifty meters, we already can hear the sound of the waterfall of Lacolla. And it can add our spirit to reach the place sooner.

Leaving the forest we cross a narrow trail. Evenly the destination’s in front of our eyes. The large waterfall which catches on a big stone, and a beautiful scene surrounding the waterfall, and the cool water make us fresh. The sound of the waterfall can break the loneliness and forget our tired along the way.

Lacolla bathing place is a really beautiful place and formed naturally. It has a high waterfall, a large bathing pond, and many big stones around it. Before people knew this place, it is not a good destination of spending the holiday. But now, it becomes famous and many people come to visit this place.

MY ENGLISH TEACHER

When I was still a second grade student of my senior high school, I had to solve a very big problem of myself. It was a time when I didn’t have courage to speak English. Actually I was afraid of making mistakes in using vocabulary, pronouncing the English words, and especially using English structure well. Making things worse, I was basically so shy and regarded as a silent girl. I ever said to my friend, Ani, that I didn’t have braveness to speak English because of these factors consequently.

One day, there was a new English teacher in my school. Her name is Mr. Abu. Fortunately, this new English teacher is very caring and patient. He willed to give his hand whenever my classmate and I needed some help to solve our lessons. He said that he allowed his students to play their own cassettes or mobile phone to support their listening to English speaking. Shortly, while I had my classmates taken notes or joined the assignment, they became entertained.

We were to be active participants joining some certain English games, such as scrabble or our favorite one. There was so much fun with a lot of practice time, instead of theory itself. I could gradually change my mood in learning English.

That English teacher was rarely able to boost my spirit to learn English well. His ways teaching his students were very deeply affected. We called him a hero. He motivated us to be an English teacher like him. It is one of my reasons why I have to take English department now.

MUHAMMADIYAH UNIVERSITY OF MAKASSAR

Makassar is one of the big cities in Indonesia. Not only famous because its beautiful scene, but Makassar also famous in education world. Many successful people come from Makassar. We can also see that there are many universities lies in Makassar. Some of them are famous, like Hasanuddin University and Makassar State University. Not only, the state university, but also the private universities in Makassar are competitive too. One of them which has complete facilities and had graduated thousands collegians every year is Muhammadiyah University.

Muhammadiyah University lies on a strategic place. It is on Sultan Alauddin street, a highway in Makassar, so students can be easier to reach the place. In front of this building, we can find two of the biggest libraries in Makassar. It is good for students to improve their knowledge by reading books in these libraries. Beside of this campus, we can also find a large fuel pump, some mini markets, internet shop, and some typing rental and copying stalls so that the students can be easier to do their activities.

Inside of this campus we can find some big buildings. The first building we’ll see when we entered its gate is C building. It is the central office consisted of two floors. On the first floor, there are library, computer lab, and an office. On the second floor, there are administration office and head office. The left side of the C building is a mosque namely Al Amin, and the right side one is an Auditorium and G building.

Behind the Auditorium, there is a big building with four floor namely F building. This building is used by some faculties, like agriculture faulty, Islamic Learning faculty, technique faculty and Social Politic faculty. This building is also used for teaching and learning process. It consists of over forty rooms.

In front of the mosque, there is a big three-floor building like U letter. It consists of three buildings, A, AB, and B buildings. The first floor is used by Junior and High School of Muhammadiyah. The second floor of A, AB, and B building is used by two Faculties and their departments. They are Teacher Training Faculty and Economy Faculty. There are also two buildings for computer labs. On the third floor, there are some classes and a complete listening room.

Muhammadiyah is a big and complete campus in Makassar. Every years this campus require thousand students. Many of them are interested to joint this campus because of it’s cheaper than the other campuses and also it has some complete facilities. Everyday this campus is always crowded and busy. Now, Muhammadiyah is one of favorite campus for the students who want to continue their study in university.

Talking about holiday, I have a good destination to spend our time together and to enjoy the time with natural sense. It is a beautiful place, namely Bangko. Actually, this place is not so famous than the others. It is in Ko’mara, a small village in Takalar. But not all Takalar’s society know about this destination. It looks like a hidden place. But if you see the place, you’ll just say “wonderful”.

You can go there by motorcycle or by car. You just need Rp. 10,000.- to reach that place. But some people sometimes use pete-pete to go there. After arriving near the place, you will go by on foot for about a kilometer through the forest to reach the place. We don’t have to buy a ticket. There are some villas around the place. But it would be better if you make a camp there. And don’t worry about the place. It’s safe. There is no any single wild animal. There is a little village around the place.

The place is so natural with a very beautiful scene around the place. All is so fresh. The important thing you will find there is a natural pond with warm water. It’s rare to find a natural pond like this. People say that it’s good for our health. You’ll feel relax and enjoyable. Another scene is a waterfall near the pond. It’s beautiful waterfall.

Bangko is not a famous place, but it is good to visit. Sometimes people come to this place to omit their burden or enjoy the warm spring water and the beautiful waterfall. Not only that, people sometimes visits this place to make a camp there to spend their night and enjoy the situation. It is better and exciting.

HAVING DINNER IN WEDDING PARTY

Sunday night, 15^th of January 2007 was an embarrassing moment for me. My friends and I came to the capital city of Makassar to watch music concert. It took place at Mandala Tower Monument. We went there using pete-pete. Actually we enjoy the concert, but when we went back home, we couldn’t find a single pete-pete passing the street. So we decided to go on foot. On the way home, we were very hungry. Actually we have little money but there was no stall near the street. And then we saw a wedding party and we went there trying to enter the party with little of money. I thought it was an embarrassing moment.

We came to the party held in Immim Auditorium on Sudirman Street. You knew, we just had Rp. 500, - in our pocket at that time, so we made a trick by putting that money into an envelope made of paper spreading on the street. Then we, ten boys, came into the party. Bravely, we came in.

When we were in the auditorium, we met the marriage couple and shake our hands with a smile. One of my friends put the envelope into the box. After giving e greet to the marriage couple, directly we came to the food closely and had our dinner. Our starvation made us forgot everything. The meals were delicious. Moreover one of my friends added his dinner.

After having dinner, we really didn’t want to wait a long. Many people saw us strangely. So silently, we left the place one by one. Actually, some of the gusts laughed us when we went out. We ran away and took a rest under the tree near the building. Afterwards, we continued our way home.

It becomes our embarrassing moment, and I think it was my most embarrassing moment that I’ve ever done. It looked funny but I think it was an unforgettable experience with my friends. We hope we won’t make it again in the future.

MY ENGLISH TEACHER

When I was still in senior high school, exactly on the second grade, I had to cope with a very difficult problem. It was a time when I didn’t have courage to speak English. I was afraid of making mistakes in vocabulary usage, pronouncing and especially using English structure.

Making things worse, I was basically so shy and regarded as a silent person. I ever said to my friend, Linda, that I didn’t have a bravery to speak English because of those factors.

One day, there was a new English teacher in my school. Her name is Mrs.Marwani. Fortunately, this new English teacher is very caring and patient. She willed to give her hand whenever my classmate and I needed some help to the difficulties of her lessons. She said that she allowed her students to play her cassettes or mobile phone and listen to English language songs during the lesson. In short, while my friend and I took notes or did assignment, they were also interested.

She divided the lesson into two sessions and arranged it in such ways. In the first sessions her students study theories about English language in general term. And then, the second sessions, she asked them to be active participants by joining some certain English games, such as scrabble or our favorite one. There was so much fun with a lot of practice time, instead of theory itself. I could gradually change my mood in learning English.

ENGLISH COURSE IN FORT ROTTERDAM

Fort Rotterdam is one of historical place in Makassar. It’s because of this place is include inheritance of colonialism and keeping stories fight of our heroes. Now days, this place becomes an interesting place as tourism object, local or domestic. The location is strategic on Penghibur Street in front of Losari Beach and beside of RRI Makassar. If you enter Fort Rotterdam, maybe the first feeling of you is in past time it’s normally because of the structure of its buildings of the historical things. You will find an inn in the corner side. The place is to be a place for global English course for two weeks every moth. The director of Global English Course makes the fort to be their place. It’s because of they consider this place can stimulate the desire of participants ability of improving their speaking because they will always find native speakers in a relaxed and interesting place.

That place consists of some buildings completed with a large auditorium, some bed rooms, kitchen and some toilet. For two weeks we will spend the time without going anywhere like in quarantine. We will get English course intensively and the other skills like how to write the application letter and how to face interview. Everyday we start our activity a 07:30 o’clock. They are sport for 30 thirty minutes, taking a bath and beginning to study until the lunch time.

At 13:00 we may take a rest for two hours. After that, we must follow our material again in the classroom. While waiting for Adzan maghrib, we will be invited by all instructors to go out looking for some place in Fort Rotterdam and we will be divided into some small meetings so this method is so relaxed and interesting. After having dinner we have to follow the lesson in the classroom again until 20:00 and then we may take a rest until morning.

During we follow the course, my friends and I got improving of our English and we enjoy the course and there are participants still want to follow again the next meeting.

UNFORGETTABLE MEMORIZE

I was on the second class in senior high school at that time. When I joined to one of organization in my school, Wall Magazine, I was as treasurer. At the time, we made a journalist training in my school. The training was for two days. There were many students followed this program. But at the last day I fell down from a motorcycle.

I was as treasure had to prepare all of the things that were needed as long as the training went on. I never imagined that the last day was a scream day for me. We faced a little problem. We were going to close our training. Unfortunately, steering committee came just a half. So we should work hard. Suddenly, my friend told me that he was hungry and asked me to buy some feed for us because we couldn’t concentrate to our job if we were hungry. I decided to buy some feed in a cafeteria that far from my school because the cafeteria in my school was closed.

My friend and I went to the cafeteria with motorcycle. After buying some feed, we went back through a small road so we could come to school earlier. Our motorcycle went through a hole on the way and he couldn’t control his motorcycle. I fell down unconsciously.

I opened my eyes and saw a white room around me. My whole body felt worse and I couldn’t move it. My friends took near beside me and they forbid me to move. My teacher said that I had fell down from the motorcycle and had to be hospitalized. I was in the hospital for four days.

Actually our program finished on that day and I didn’t attend its closing ceremony. I myself closed our program with hospitalizing and laying on the bed at least for one month.

Aryaduta restaurant is located at Penghibur street, one of crowded street in Makassar. Aryaduta restaurant is in Imperial Aryaduta hotel. It’s not too wide but it has good services. It is in the middle of the hotel, on the left side of the lobby room. This place is open for 24 hours nonstop. Usually, it is crowded in the evening or at Saturday night. The location is strategic because it is located in commercial area. Therefore many people visit this place. Beside that, it has good facilities. The waitresses are friendly and very pleasant.

There are many different foods they serve. We can order Indonesian food or western food. It depends on the menu on that day because everyday they serve different menus. When we go to tis place we will find the entrance in front and in the back of the restaurant. Firstly, we meet table receptionist. He is friendly, he always smile to the visitors and says greeting to them. We can order foods to the waitress and then we can have a seat.

Its price is not cheap but also not expensive. It is suitable with its facilities and quality. The food is very delicious so that many people like to go there for lunch and dinner. The place is very comfortable so we can enjoy our meals especially with our family.

It is suitable if we enjoy our meals with our family in this restaurant. It’s a good choice and it’s easy to get there. Have a good scene although it’s not very large and expensive but it’s comfortable.

LEWAJA RESORT

Lewaja is one of tourism place in Enrekang. It lies about 15 kilometres from Enrekang city. It is a natural place. There are some resorts that can make us interested to visit them, like waterfall, swimming pool, etc. We can through a narrow path to reach the destination.
Lewaja is natural and beautiful place. It’s far from the road but really exciting for sightseeing. All of the paths to reach the place we can through bush and sometimes hear swindled of bear. On the way, you will feel the fresh air around you and see a beautiful scene.
If we arrive in Lewaja, firstly we can find parking area for our vehicles. In front of this are, we can see a building with two floors. The first floor is used for changing our clothes if we want to swim. The second floor is used as an information room. To find the swimming pool, we should cross some ladder. There are two swimming pools, one for children and the other for adults. Beside of the swimming pools, there are some chairs and bench for resting. And some little rooms for changing our wears.
If we want to go to the waterfall of Lewaja, we should cross the forest. After crossing the forest, we will arrive at Lewaja World (Alam Lewaja). In this area, we can see a beautiful scenery. Waterfall, cold water, big stones and beautiful view around the place color this area. Sometimes people are used to take a rest on the stone or sometimes take a picture at a beautiful place they want. Under the waterfall, people sometimes take a bath or swim.
Lewaja is a beautiful place. People usually go there for recreation or spending their time in Lewaja. We can stay more at Lewaja area because there are many villas around the bath.

IMRAN’S WEDDING PARTY

Imran is my best friend. He is my classmate. He would be married, so he invited all his classmates to his wedding party. His party would celebrate in his house in Makassar on 14th of August, 2005. Four days before, we accepted invitations from Imran. We know that the party would be crowded because his family had planned a big party for him.
Before going to his house, we started to buy presents. We gathered at Ana’s house and then went together by motorcycles. It took an hour from Ana’s house to arrive at Imran’s. Imran was surprised and very happy to see us coming to his party. He gave us a friendly welcome to us. As soon as, we congratulated him smiley with some whispered joke and then we have lunch. We were happy to see him got married.
In his wedding, he said some hopes. He hoped he would have a good family and always make his wife happy. It was an unforgettable moment for Imran and his family. Before leaving Imran’s house, we also prayed that Imran would get the best for his life and then we said goodbye to him and his family. We were back to our homes and took a rest.
Imran said thanked goodness to his friends and his family because his party worked well. He promised to make his family happy. Now he lives with his new family. Both his family and us hope that he will find a peace and prosperous and happiness with his wife.

One day, there was a new English teacher in my school. Her name was Mrs. Salmawati. Fortunately, this new English teacher was very caring and patient. She was willing to give her hand whennever me and her classmates need some help to the diffculties with her lesson. She said that she allowed her student to play their own cassettes or mobile phone and listen to English language songs during the lesson. In short, while I and My classmates were taking notes or doing assignment, they were aso being enterained.
She divided the lesson into two sessions and arranged it in such ways. In the first sessions her students studied theorist about English language in general them, in the second session, she asked.
Them to be active partipants by joining certain games such as scrabble or their favorite one. It was so much fun! With a lot of practice time, instead of theory it self, I could gradually change my mood in learning English.

RAMAI SHOP

Ramai shop is a mini market in Makassar. It is located in Sultan Alauddin street, number 3, beside of BPH housing, medicine store, cafeteria, and billboard. In front of this shop we can find a Pertamina fuel pump. Actually, Ramai shop is strategic because it is near from the housing so that they are unnecessary to go to other shop to buy somethings.
At Ramai shop, sometime people crowded and sometimes it looks quite. This shop is crowded in the evening or when the holiday, whereas it looks quite in the afternoon.
There are two floors in Ramai shop. The first floor, before entering this shop there is parch. When we enter the shop, on the left side there are goods dipositting sunda, in front of of goods dipositting cashier. On the right side, there are a medicine place and arranged product like, milk, rice, sugar, oil, and the other products.
On the second floor, there are soup, snack, noodles, and spices. Although its products are complete, people always annoy if they have bought in this shop because its prices are different with other shops. For examples, we see the list price on the product is cheap, but when we store to cashier, it becomes expensive.
This case makes this shop rare to visit. People sometimes choose another mini market around this shop to buy their needs. But some people superiority still buy in this shop. People who live in BPH Housing and some collegians live near this shop still use this shop as alternative way for shopping.

MY ENGLISH COURSE PLACE

Every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday I go to my English course at Pettarani Street number 2.A. I start to study at 16:30 PM and I always come in time because my teacher doesn’t like if we come late.
In my English course place, I have many friends. They are very kind and friendly. Afterwards, if we arrive there, my friends and I often speak in English while waiting our English teacher. When the teacher comes, my friends and I come into the class and start to study. First of all my teacher always say a greet for us by saying “good afternoon everybody, open your book.” My teacher explains his lesson about structure. We listen on his explanation seriously and sometimes my teacher orders us to read our book and then explain what we read. If we find a wrong or strange sentence or word, he orders us to open a dictionary.
My English course has some levels. For each level, we study for two months. As same as with other levels, once a month we usually make an English camp for two days. At that moment, we will do some activities to train our English skills such as speech, speaking by playing a game. After having English camp, we are back to study again in English class.
Often in English course, my friends and I finish reading our books. We come back home. My English course place is very good. We can find and enjoy the class with quantum learning method, the listening room, and also all the equipment prepared by this place. My teachers give us good materials.

BHAYANGKARA HOSPITAL

Bhayangkara hospital lies on Jl. Letjen. Andi Mappaoddang, Makassar. It is a policeman hospital. Around it are roads, block of flats, food stalls, drugstore and a mosque. At the front side, there are two gates as the entrance and the exit of this hospital, a large parking area that separates car and motorcycle parking area, some small green trees and beautiful flowers. It is large, tidy and clean.
Step into the hospital, there is a post guard with a TV set on its corner. There are also a teller machine and a pharmacy room on the right side, a path that separates each ward. In front of each ward there are a small parking area and a small garden with flowers that can fresh our eyes. Every morning cleaning services sweep and mopped the hospital. Cleanliness is always kept.
A wide path in the middle divides the hospital into two parts. On the right side, a pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, and emergency room are located as the first ward. Every ward has some rooms. Then, the Garuda ward has two floors with many rooms for patients especially for men. Each room in this ward can be for one or two patients. Behind this ward, there is Merpati ward for women.
The left side, there are some wards. The Rajawali ward, it is for VIP class. Each room has complete equipments like a small living room, a TV set and air condition so the patients will feel comfortable. Next room, we’ll fin ICU room for emergency patients. It must be treated intensively. After getting better, they will be moved to treatment. Next ward is Ketilang ward. It is for child patients. On the back side, there is a mosque, ambulance, kitchen and parking area. Every ward has been completed with a special room for the nurses.
As one of good hospitals, many medical specialists are there. They are pediatricians, dentists, obstetricians, ophthalmologists, radiologists, general practitioners, and etc. they will check the patients every morning and give the medicine prescription. Some nurses always assist them. Every time, the nurses are ready to help the patients. They are kindly and friendly. They always give motivation so that the patients can get better.
Bhayangkara hospital is popular as a good hospital that giving a good service to the patients. The hospital always tries to improve their servicing and also add an extension to the hospital. Many people express their satisfaction to its service. They hope they can be more better and always better for the future.

ENGLISH CAMP IN BARRU

Engilsh camp is one of English Department Student Association (EDSA) program. It is held at holiday of odd semester. The participants are English students, especially from the first semester. The last English camp was in Barru regency. It is in Lalujo village exactly. Lalujo has an exciting place around the mountain. There were many green trees with fresh air and beautiful scene. We stayed for five days. During there, many interesting activities already done by committee like games, drama, climbing the mountain, spending night and etc.
At 8:00 o’clock in the morning, all participants assemble in the campus. We were divided into some groups. Each group prepared and brought equipments like kitchen tools, tent, some food, etc. they brought a big duffle bag that contents many things for supplies. At 10:00 o’clock, we left the campus with two big buses. It’s about three hours from Makassar. My bus was noisy. During the journey, we all were singing songs. One of my friend brought a guitar. They were playing guitar one by one. We were very fun and happy. All along the road, we looked out the view. Sometimes I saw the rice fields, mountain area from distance, bridge, office, block of flats, and etc. in the bus, we also ate something like snack, cookies, and water. It was so tired journey but very pleasant.
We arrive about half past one. When got out of the bug, we saw interesting view. A large field was seen at top of the hill. Tat’s our camping area. It is around the green trees and a small river where the water flow from the mountain. The water is so clear and fresh. Around the river there are stone where we can sit while enjoy the the fresh air and exciting scene. The boys pitch the tents to the ground and the girls prepare the things, food and drink. There were some tents for the boys and the girls, a main tent for the committee. There were also some society houses around the area.
The first day, we were woken up by some birds singing and sunrise in the brightened morning. It was so cool, before starting activities, we had breakfast. We studied in the open air leaded by two steering committees who taught us how to describe a place. Everyday, we tried to speak English about everything. If not, we would get a punishment. We also played games, like puzzle, a contest to be a king and a queen. The rules, a boy was made up like a girl, the clothes and his style was like a girl. It was so funny. We also prayed together. At night, we made a camp fire in the middle of the ground. We spent the night with English debate and drama.
All participants and committees presented their story. We climb a hill together and saw the exciting scene at the top of the hill. Our eyes looked at the green trees spread everywhere.
The last day, we were sad leaving Lalijo village. Togetherness and friendship for five days in English camp would be remembered. Studying and laughing together were a moment that rarely I felt in my life. I also could have many friends from other classes. We would never know when this will happen again. It’s an unforgettable experience.
